There are several funny things about that YAMAHA SW1000XG sound card. The first thing is that this guy is trying to sell “the last one I sell” for at least 2 years:lol:.

Maybe this seller realized that the starting price of ~800 was not going to work; so, smartly? 😖 ? ..decided to drop the price to just 550 GBP. I admire his persistence tough. I'm sure we will see this card outrageous price for years to come.

Second funny thing is that I bought mine -new in the box- for 80 dollars a couple of months ago. 😁

Ah. For a second there I thought there was a Diamond Stealth 24 IC glued to the CPU.

Back in the day, and as a joke, I epoxied an old AMD 286 CPU (one of those "Intel marked" but manufactured by AMD ones) onto my Voodoo 5 5500 AGP card just because it had so much PCB space and for the craic, as a friend of mine assured me that it would become a collector's piece.

Not the smartest move to make. I see that the 5500 commands regularly prices of about 100€ on eBay and that old, useless CPU is a very after sought piece.

Another winner here:

Crazy prices i will never pay..

I know, that is a ridiculous price. I paid less than half that for mine boxed but without the game demo CD's and I sure as hell wouldn't pay the difference for just the CD's alone.

I have seen those being sold for higher than that, though. At the time I bought mine, I think the only other complete in box on the entire internet that I could find was $600.

That thing is probably going to sit there for ages, even after this stock of Obsidian2 200 SBi cards dries up. http://www.ebay.ca/itm/Quantum-OBSIDIAN2-SBi- … =item5d33445f11

The only problem with those is, no medusa cable. They are useless without one.

I have more than 8 of them I think. Perhaps I could trade you one for something a bit interesting if you want

I don't know where some people come up with their valuations for these things sometimes.

http://www.ebay.com/itm/NEXGEN-NX586-P80-WITH … E-/200926499103?

The last P80 on ebay sold for $70 and the last P100 sold for $75 and that's pretty much the range these things trade in. $145-$190 is way off base. The P120 and P133 are rarer, so they would trade slightly outside the range as would one with a built in FPU but not a P80. The P80 and P90 are the two most common ones that you find either loose or as part of a motherboard w/CPU package.

Remember the Thinkpad 360PE I pointed out? Yeah, well apparently its influence has infected another auction. This one isn't even a 360PE, yet they think it must be given the description...

And the condition? The description? "...feels heavy so its all there..."

There was a reason for the price on the first Thinkpad. It is a pen enabled system with a touch screen and touch screens were expensive as hell back when that laptop was made so not a lot of them were sold. I'm not sure what the story is with this latest one that the seller would want so much for it. Even the last PowerPC Thinkpad that was on ebay didn't sell for that much and they are among the rarest Thinkpads.
