Hey guys, i was thinking about something.
I really like the sounds of Yamaha SW1000XG, but the cost of it goes up to 200 euro! Which is a huge price for me.

I was thinking, would this kind of a trade be realistic for a Yamaha 1000 XG (with the other card that goes in the set):

1x Gravis Ultra Sound MAX v2.4 boxed with every content + upgraded to 1 MB of RAM
1x AWE64 Gold boxed with Midi cable, SPDIF plate and other content that came with the box
+ Maybe 50 euro or something?

Or would it be a better idea to sell both of those sound cards on e bay first? Ive seen the GUS go for 100e and sound blaster with out box for 50e.

There's several buy-it-now sw1000xg's on ebay uk for a lot less than 200 euros. Not sure what other card you mean but i suspect that's for music production rather than gaming. Looks like a few auctions ended around £15-30 lately too 😲.

I'd be inclined to sell the others first.

It was something like this:

http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Yamaha-SW-1000XG-So … =item4aba1df27d

Boxed, but it had 2 more additional things:

1. Card that goes into the PCI slot attached over a cable to SW1000XG
2. An additional daughter board

It all went for 200e a few months ago.

Also here are some pictures i took a while ago:

The two additional things were probably the DS2416 card and one of the PLG150 plug-ins - unless you're a musician they're not very interesting.

Yamaha PLG100-DX […]

Yamaha PLG100-DX

This plug-in board lets you add vintage FM synthesis voices to the SW1000XG. The PLG100DX features the same synthesis engine as the famous Yamaha DX-7, giving you stunning FM voices with all their crystalline clarity and pristine punch.
Voices

The voices can be played from one of the SW1000XG's ports, and feature up to 16-note polyphony. Special plug-in software modules - DX Easy Editor and DX Simulator, designed for the XGworks Music Sequence software - let you easily and conveniently control and edit all FM parameters.

Is this the extra board you meant?

I would like to get into making some music with it as well. My uncle is a musitian him self and he could probably hook me up with a nice keyboard.
I simply love how 1000XG can produce music that was in the best shows i watched as a kid, not to mention all the arcades.

[Edit]

To be honest, i forgot 😒
Im trying to find that auction on Ebay using google, but no luck.

[Edit #2]

Yes, that seems to be the one.

200 euro isn't much compared to the cost of a CS80. Been wanting one for years but with only 800 machines produced and the typical cost around $15000-18000 usd I can only dream of owning one.

The sounds that these machines produce is amazing.

Whoa, thats a nice synth.
But the thing is, i dont have a job/profit. I dont make money on my own.

All the things i buy/get are from fixing computers and operating systems. And that is kinda rare.
But i want to try to get money for 1000XG or at least find some one who will trade.

Well different people have different values, someone who has a SW1000XG might be a professional musician and have no interest in old sound cards.

There's also more hassle involved in shipping items both ways instead of just paying the money and getting one item shipped to you. What if one of the packages gets lost in the mail?

If I were you I'd sell your two cards and use the cash to buy a SW1000XG.

If you are squeamish, don't prod the beach rubble.

Firstly I think the chances are slim to non-existent that you will find a seller with all you want, who happens to want what you are hoping to sell/swap and agrees on your valuation.

Secondly, I would find it hard to trust someone I didn't know in any postal exchange.

Thirdly, If you're patient you can get a relatively good price for the cards you have. Likewise if you watch ebay you can probably get the cards you want cheaper than average.

So I would suggest you sell your cards and buy what you want.

One person from here already offered me a very good price for AWE64, and one other is interested into GUS. But as it was discussed in that topic, this is kinda risky.
