While I would be all for the Sierra Family companies being included in the revival, they were separate development teams and all of the hints from those in the know have only hinted at the main Sierra titles. Sierra probably shared the most with Dynamix, but even with more input and code sharing, even to the point of developing a couple of SCI games, Dynamix had its own development system and approach. Nonetheless, Dynamix lives on in Jeff Tunnel and Damon Slye with new TIM and Red Baron style games. Resurrecting Impressions I suspect would be a taller order. Coktel Visions still exists but mostly does educational stuff. I am not sure if they had anything to do with Gobliiins 4.

Someone put up a fake Sierra account on Twitter. They even stole the new logo:

Thank you for following! We'll see you on Kickstarter.

This was pretty quickly debunked by John Williams:

Not a Kickstarter campaign. Think about it: If it was, they would be making the announcements on the web instead of in Germany at a major trade show.

Trade shows are obscenely expensive to get anything done at, and it's hard to break through the noise even if you the best possible demos and talent working on it. Particularly ones you have to fly half way across the world to get to.

The Silver Lining was pretty good at washing that nasty taste KQ8 left in my mouth.

Shame the haven't finished the series yet.

I wish AGD would make more remakes, like PQ2 or LSL 2 and 3, etc...

If you mean AGDI, then that won't be happening. They have moved on. It is probably a lot less likely that any fan group will do anymore Sierra titles with official active development. Anyone doing it would have to keep completely below the radar and risk getting shut down on release. I am not even entirely sure what this may mean to my site and resources.

They definitely moved on after QFG2VGA. I was an active forum member there for many moons. They made Al Emmo while wrapping up QFG2, and started the new project they've got going on. I'm just glad infamous released SQ2VGA before they moved on as well.

I need to check back in with the Coles. I dunno if their kickstarter made it's goal, but they have/had a neat guild ala Famous Adventurers on their website.

*EDIT*
Even though he's not the best writer/designer in the universe, I wish Jim Walls would make another Police Quest type game. Blue Force sucked nards, and Daryl Gates has no business be anywhere near the PQ property. That's why it mutated into SWAT. 🙁

I don't think TSL will ever be completed - they've gone pro now so the impetus to complete it is surely severely diminished?

As for the announcement, let's hope it's a good continuation 😀

Hero-U is under development, as is SpaceVenture. As to Sierra itself, given that it is not going to be in house development, but by hiring indies for the actual development, it may be that the 2 Guys could find Space Quest back in their hands, but I would doubt that we would hear anything about it until after the release of SpaceVenture. I'm curious as to whether or not the new GK remake might end up having the Sierra label on it.

The GamesIndustry.biz link from above seems to indicate their thinking on it. Sierra: "Quality and passion will always pay off"

Well, remember that only the German package called it "8". Nearly everywhere else it was simply King's Quest: Mask of Eternity. I never refer to it as "KQ8", but MoE instead.

"There's not much I can say about King's Quest," Marshall tells us. "All I can say is that I've seen it, and it's not a point-and-click game. But it looks *** awesome."
