I do not sell much as the shipping cost is often as much as people are willing to pay so you never get your money back. When I sell I do it locally.

My question for not only candle_86 but many other users that go through buy and sell cycles a bit like the stock market goes up and up only to fall down again is: Why do you not get a cold storage unit where you can keep all the stuff during the years the missis cant stand having the livingroom full of computers or periods of too much work with little time for play?

Some years I work too much so I have little time for tinkering with computers but if I would get rid of everything only to buy it again the next time I have more free time and feel the urge to tinker I would be a poor man and lets face it you will all be back here sooner or later 😉.

Main PC: Dual Xeon X5690@4.6ghz, Evga - SR-2, 48gb memory, Intel X25-M g2 SSD and a Nvidia GTX 980 ti.
Retro PC #3: K6-2 450@500mhz, PC-Chips m577, 256mb sdram, AWE64 and a Voodoo Banshee.

I only buy and sell within my own country. I often tend to pay a little extra just to get people to the postoffice and send it to me. Hardware is mostly cheap here anyway but this way it is hard to ever get my money back on items.

Only stuff that goes really well here are boxed/sealed items and 3dfx stuff (but not as crazy as ebay).

I only sell stuff i never use anyway and to keep my hoarding in check. I agree with skyscraper: Store the stuff somewhere as the itch will be coming back.

If you MUST sell ebay is the place to get the best price, since it is the best way to reach people that see it as stuff that is worth something, opposed to most people who think it is junk.

its a matter of im making a choice here, I'm loosing interest fast since the wedding, with my marriage, my new step daughter ect, my life is simply to busy to most days turn on my main rig, my other rigs sit dormant at this point, and I do not forsee that changing, since she is now pregnant with my first child. Id like someone else to enjoy them, so storage isnt really what im looking for.
