Is there a place to download ROL/AM2/IMS/SOP (Even though I believe I have all of it)/Etc. music files that play on an OPL chip (And accompanying software for it)?
I enjoy listening to the sounds of FM Operators, but most games have terrible sounds (compared to what OPL2/3 can do), and I think there is a lot of such music out there.

Would be especially nice if there are some programs like LLSID that convert SID to OPL format to try out.
I found one interesting software in the SOP archives called OCP10 (OCPLAY) that can play ROL and IMS file formats, but it is completely in Korean (I think) and I cant figure out how to get to the folder navigation. I tried countless OCR programs but they all give me the same garbage.

You forgot S3M! There are a few FM-only S3Ms out there and even those are just as elusive... (and i don't mean "chiptunes" even though these are quite technically.......chip tunes)

Aren't there also OPL2 STM's out there? (ScreamTracker 2.x)

No STM does not support FM music, it's pure sample based tracker format like MOD. S3M supports OPL2 FM music, not OPL3.

Would be interesting to hear those too. Man, would be so nice if there was a place to just download what you like 🤣
Can anybody translate some Korean from an DOS program? I tried a lot of online OCRs and different images but I got nothing usable.

I've played around with OCPlay a bit in the past. At least in the version I have, F10 brings up a folder tree. Once you pick a folder it will list the files, and F6 switches between looking at IMS and ROL files.

There is a good collection of OPL modules from almost every tracker out there on Modland's FTP: http://modland.com/pub/modules/Ad%20Lib/

Also not to self-promote but it's relevant: I am trying to get my hands on as many OPL songs as possible and converting them to VGM with the goal of getting as much of it into this universal format as I can for easy listening on both emulation and original hardware (unfortunately a manual process so it will take ages...). These can be played back using SBVGM, or VGMplay in Win95 with hardware OPL turned on. Archive is here: http://opl.wafflenet.com/ -- I have several songs from various different trackers.

If you're looking for some Adlib S3M files, I converted the Zone 66 "CDFM" music to S3M some time back (scroll down to the 'download' link for the rip.) The Adlib tracks are OPL only, the SoundBlaster tracks are OPL+sampled in the same song, and the GUS tracks are sampled only. The kicker is that ScreamTracker 3 has a few OPL bugs so the files don't play back the way they do in-game. SchismTracker is one program that gets pretty close but it's still not perfect.

Pretty rare AdLib things you can find here:

https://web.archive.org/web/20110718215151/ht … ptune.de/adlib/
ftp://ftp.pigwa.net/stuff/mirror/chiptune.de/adlib/
http://cd.textfiles.com/10000soundssongs/
http://cd.textfiles.com/swextrav1993/disk4/

However, these IMS and SOP are specific to the Korean demoscene.

They all are playable by latest AdPlug Winamp CI build:

DOS Korean programs and music files usually encoded using JOHAB encoding, you can decode the titles with this short script:

You can run the script in online php fiddle:

Thank you for this information, but can you also help me learn how to download these files in a faster way? Surely there is a faster way than clicking one by one?

This will download all files from Apache indexed directory:

wget -r -np -nH --cut-dirs=3 -R index.html http://cd.textfiles.com/10000soundssongs/ROL/

Maybe i can take a crack on it, i have hex-edited-translated many german, russian, polish and chehos/slovakkian command line programs, and even one tiny Norton Commander clone. For my own use of course. Because old-dos.ru and other eastern europe dos arhives are a gold mine. But not everything is in english. Some good programs have no english versions.

I am aroused about any X86 motherboard that has full functional ISA slot. I think i have problem. Not really into that original (Turbo) XT,286,386 and CGA/EGA stuff. So just a DOS nut.
PS. If I upload RAR, it is a 16-bit DOS RAR Version 2.50.

Thanks, that worked.

The software is OC Play from Korean programmers. Plays IMS and ROL. As MrKsoft already said, I got to get around in it thanks to the F10 folder select key. But the software is kinda buggy, it crashes some times.

Stojke, I didn't see this topic, so I answer your PM also here.

You can download 2.0 here and IMS bonus files.

Re: USB FM Module

And attach hwp documents to standard KSC notepad.

Documents have developer's goodby for Military service and hotkeys introduce.

Sorry for late. I was somewhat busy. 😢
