I'm way more interested in short, curated lists.

All mods are 100% currated. No junk at all.

Since Vogons is very active community, i would like to ask all of you for advice.
I come up with an idea to upload music without any visualization, just plain pattern data with some static borders (maybe).

Your thoughts about that?

I've been slowly putting together a couple "mix tapes" of MODs that follow a theme. First one is just a collection of my favorite electronica:
12) More Than Meets the Mind
13) Point of Departure

Just found those babies on my piii laptop.

When i heard first notes of these my brain cells generated insane amount of nostalgia.
Thanks for the tip! Definitely will be on the list.

I still to this day enjoy and love tracker mods 😀 My favourite players are Modplug, and if you like to play them on android there is XMP mod player. Which is a great player too.

Happy New Year to all Vogon's people!

As channel grows, i need more neat stuff, although i've already have > 800 of fine selected stuff in my treasure chest.

So your personal suggestions are very welcomed.

Wow. I can’t believe there is a thread about this. I started listening to mods / xm / s3m in the early 90s - will post a few of my favs here. Whoever listed “Ascent of the Cloud Eagle” earlier in the thread was spot on. Skaven, Purple Motion, Necros, Radix, Elwood, darkhalo all made good stuff.

There's a module I really like - "alpha and omega":
ftp://ftp.modland.com/pub/modules/Protracker/ … and%20omega.mod

Any idea who's the author?

Not sure if this On-Topic, or not, but I've just found an interesting web radio that plays MOD files.. 😀

Yep, why wouldn't you try to open your Youtube radio? Perhaps it will attract more attention than your scattered videos.

Maybe it is a good idea to bring up a radio channel, i need to think this through.

Um, not sure if I understand, but I'm not affiliated with that web radio in any way, whatsoever. 😅
Just found it by accident, since it was being linked to at the blog site of the user that burned Win 3.1 in a BIOS chip.
And since the web radio offers a download of the *.mod/*.it/*.xm files in the playlist, I thought it would be interesting to all of you. 😀
As for the videos, well. It's just a side hobby. In times I feel sad or depressed, I often start little projects.
Most of them are random and rather obscure, also, I'm afraid. 😅
It took me about two years to finally bring myself to upload something to the channel that I set up
and I'm still very uncertain each time I upload a new video. I always have concerns in respect of content and quality.
In fact, to this day, I don't even have got a real video editor at hand, just a few tools, haha. 😅

Edit: Maybe I didn't express things very well, so please let me add a few more words.. 😅
- The idea with a radio channel is neat, I think. Thank you. Maybe it could be running on something cool, say a hacked toaster/coffee machine, a PIC or an 8-Bit computer..
Als not sure if I'm the right person for that, though. I mean, I'm not very gifted in entertaining people. Sure, it's just about Amiga MODs, but..
- By "just a side hobby" i meant to say that I'm an amateur only (get no money, insert no ads etc) and don't really do things for attention.
I just love to share the things I like with others and I'm happy for every feedback of each single other user that browses by.
And if I,- on top of that -, can make a few other people feel happy/lighten up their day with these videos, then it really warmens my heart. 😊

A radio channel as such would be interesting, I believe. (Just imagine VOGONS Radio 😉 )
I heard in some countries (US ?), private people are allowed to run lower power radio stations, even!
On VHF (in FM), at least (sample of such a station). Not sure about medium wave (in AM), though (maybe too).
Anyway, we're talking about the web.. If you open one please remember to make sure it can be reached via all types of vintage systems, not just PC/browser 😀

I came here to suggest you stream via a radio too, but I would prefer a shoutcast stream rather than a youtube radio.

Shoutcast stream is very easy. But i need to build dedicated machine for it.
