I hope I am not breaking any rules here, but I wanted to share this project for an old game. For more than 4 months I have been updating textures for Dungeon Siege using ESRGAN. I have released a texture pack that contains 3929 textures and is 5.97 GB large. All terrain textures have been updated, 750 world objects and decals, as well as bosses and some larger enemies and NPCs.

Everything is based on original textures, there are no custom textures. The algorithm increases width and height of textures four times and adds new detail. I think the new textures preserved the original look very faithfully and is a major improvement.

You can watch the comparison video here:

You can download the texture pack on ModDB (there is also an alternative download link in the description there):

If you are interested how it was made you can check out my blog:

Looks great, very cool, will try this out soon.

Do you know how much video ram the new textures require? I can give it a try on my retro machine regardless, just curious.

I don't know. I'm currently using my integrated Intel graphics because my GPU broke again few days ago (if you check out my blog, it was the one I baked in the oven 8 months ago).
But, if we would take the original minimum system requirements and multiply by 16, it would be 2 GB of RAM and 128 VRAM, but that is a wild guess.

Today I uploaded a new mod called "SeeFar2020". This is a compilation of modifications for Dungeon Siege and Legends Of Aranna that increase the draw distance, add more camera control options, add support for more resolutions, fix 3D character preview in inventory and slightly increase the default font size.

All these modifications are independent of each other, player can choose which one to use. In combination with high resolution textures this will make the game look significantly better than before (updated textures were not used in the screenshots below).

NOTE: This has not been tested on the whole maps, please notify me if there are some issues or if all works fine.

You can read more about it and download on ModDB:

If you mean SeeFar, I personally don't have the Steam version, but AFAIK Steam version is based on Legends Of Aranna release, so it should be compatible. I just changed a bunch of configuration files, I didn't do something more extreme like repackage the maps or something like that. If you mean the textures, people have used them on Steam with no issues.
