The climate is definitely warming. We know this from things like melting glaciers and shrinking sea ice. The controversy is over what (or who) is causing it.

Not really. At least it doesn't warm any more. Looking in the past few years it is slowly beginning to cool and cooling is way more problematic then warming.

See the total ice/snow mass on the north hemisphere. This year is way above the average.

Also watch this video about very high temperatures in USA in 1934. It shows the graphs for the last 100 years and newspaper clips with climate alarms... just like today 🤣

But as it's seem people already have their mind set and no "new" data will change their beliefs. So be it...

Look at pictures of alpine glaciers from a century ago compared to today. What else could be causing that?

It's a boon for archaeologists incidentally because old villages that have been covered for centuries in ice are coming to light again.

Is this too much voodoo?

So what does this tell you? That in the past the glaciers didn't exist there and people could live there. Earth, Sun... everything in nature is cyclical. There are warmer periods and cooler periods - blame the SUN! Nothing humans can do about it. Per calculations the human influence is around 0.4%. Pretty much statistical error.

Do not get me wrong. I'm against pollution! Against cutting down trees! But this non sense about human caused climate change is absurd.

Yes, there are fake news on TV every day.

As you can tell, Vogons does suffer from GSF #4. Some can't handle the (literal) hot topics despite 2020 having probably the best Earth day ever thanks to the stay-at-home orders keeping the vehicle emissions down. and i'm sure there's also car analogies and parallels about this place vs. vintage car enthusiasts.

I dont know about cooling, but I can clearly see the effects locally here where I live. I remember as a child having at least 1 big, school closing snowstorm a year. (ish)

Last year, in my area, we got 2 feet of snow. Total.

If you want to deny the human factor of climate change, fine. But when shit really starts to hit the fan and you want me to share what I've stockpiled... Let's just say I wouldn't even piss on you to cool you off.

It is a mistake to think you can solve any major problems just with potatoes.

It is a binary decision. Either we try to do something about climate change or we don't.

If we try the worst thing that happens is we can't affect it and if we are lucky we can.

If we sit back and do nothing we really do not have the option of "Oh well, if we had....." because we only have this one planet.

Climate is supposed to be changing. All we can do about is cleanness and this is all I'm for.

Earth will regulate its self like it did before humans and like it will long after us... No one can predict what will happen for sure. Everything is guessing for the most part - too many variables.

yes, as I said, it is supposed to be getting colder again, instead it is getting warmer thanks to us, and that's throwing everything out of whack, the natural cycle has already been broken.

earth will regulate itself eventually, yes, by getting rid of us 😀

Yes. It's no use for us or more likely our children and grandchildren to wait for nature to regulate anything.
I view this manmade climate change denial as very dangerous.

I just don't understand why do you state like the climate change is man made as a fact? I've posted a few links, watch it and tell me your opinion.

Watch this video. It's full of facts and very interesting.

because I'd rather trust scientists and statistical data than some pseudoscience youtube channel.

Suspicious Observers (Suspicious0bservers) is a pseudoscience YouTube channel run by ex-lawyer Ben Davidson who has a degree in economics from Denison University and a Juris Doctorate from Capital University Law School, but no actual science training. His ideas have been debunked by genuine climate scientists.[1] He has various websites on which he sells his scribblings and tickets to his "annual conference".[notes 1] Davidson makes far-fetched claims about dozens of scientists attending his conferences and conversing secretly with him, but there has only been one notable name at any of his meetings — John Coleman, another notable climate denier.

This is my thinking.
Even if climate change isn't anything to do with humans. either are things like earthquakes, tornadoes, floods, etc
For those things we don't just say "its nature, nothing we can do" we adapt what we do to try and limit the destruction

No harm in adapting our lives and possibly limiting/delaying this natural occurrence while were at it.

I'll try to explain this as well as I can. I'm neither a native English speaker nor an environmental specialist, so bear with me.
Climate change is NOT, and never was man-made. It IS however man-influenced. When you make entire cities, you obviously influence the world around you. CO2 always was a thing, and it always caused a green-house effect. And that's a good thing. We need the earth to be somewhat warm, so that it can be habitable. The problem started when we mass-produced cars and other things with engines. Of course we need them, because most of the time, public transportation is highly inefficient crap. (Perfectly sound theory, poor execution.) Anyway, the CO2 was previously in enough quantity to keep us warm, yet little enough to let some heat escape, therefore keeping us cool. Now, it's in such excessive amounts, that it doesn't let heat escape. Remember, heat is energy, and energy doesn't get destroyed, it just changes forms and goes elsewhere, unless it doesn't have anywhere to go, of course.
As for some places actually being colder than before, you can experiment with that yourselves. Get a glass of warm water (or any drink of your choice), and put some ice cubes in it. The ice cubes will slowly melt, but as they do, the liquid will cool. However, if you leave it after they've melted, it will get warm again eventually.

can anyone enplane to my why global warming supporters in the USA all seem to say if you don't do Y the would will die in X amount of year. We never Do Y and when X years pass were are still here?

I get that this might be hard to grasp, to say climate change is man made, when in fact the climate was always changing long before human influence.
but the climate change we are currently experiencing, as in the warming of our climate is almost certainly entirely man-made, that is the scientific consensus.

and I really don't get why some people want to deny that, no one is trying to guilt trip you that "you are at fault" for climate change (I mean yeah, some people do, but that's not really helping), let's just take this and learn from our past mistakes and try to be better maybe as a whole?

...why this doesn't work is simple... most of us in the industrialized world would most likely have to scale back a bit and maybe surrender some of our comforts we've become accustomed to... and nobody wants that.
"who are those scientists to want to take my comforts away!" is a perfect mindset to fall into the grasp of climate deniers and other conspiracy theorists.
