Name games that you associate primarily with PCs (for any reason) that can also be played (in any way) on consoles.

I do not want to draw any strict lines here so I will just start with some examples below.

GAME NAME (YEAR) - CONSOLE1, CONSOLE2......

Quake (1996) - Saturn, N64 (link) (link)
Diablo (1998) - PS1 (link)
Commandos (1998) - Mega Drive (link) (link)
Half-Life (1998) - PS2, Dreamcast (link)
Counter-Strike (2000) - PSP (link)
Age of Empires II (2001) - PS2 (link)

Optionally you can of course add your own TRIVIA/WHY explanations or SOURCES/MATERIALS/LINKS, add images, etc. Adding at least an image/video is highly recommended.

This will end questionably.

I am too lazy to look up the specifics, but off the top of my head:

Starcraft (N64)
SimCity (SNES and N64-DD)
SimCity 2000 (SNES, Playstation)
SimEarth (SNES, and JP-only Sega CD!)
SimAnt (SNES)
Spectre (SNES)
Civilization (SNES)
Populous (SNES, Game Boy!)
Where in the World is Carmen Sandiego (SNES, SMS)
Where in Time is Carmen Sandiego (NES!)
Maniac Mansion (NES)
King's Quest V (NES)
The Secret of Monkey Island (Sega CD)
Microsoft Entertainment Pack (Game Boy Color)
Yoda Stories (Game Boy Color)
Broken Sword: Shadow of the Templar (Game Boy Advance)

Also the giant heap of Ultima and Wizardry ports for NES, Sega Master System, SNES, and Playstation.

The FM-Towns was already not-quite a PC, but those games are mostly Japanese anyway.

Maybe 😁 But we have a good start at least, well done with your list!

Here is an example of why I don't want to be too strict here and would rather see some personal opinion/curation using common sense.

If we for example banned games that did NOT release on PC (which would make total sense, at least at first sight) then this game would not get mentioned:

Battlefield 2: Modern Combat (2005) - PS2, XBOX, X360 (link) (link)

WHY: Modern Combat is the first Battlefield game for video game consoles and also was a standalone side-story/expansion for Battlefield 2 which was released exclusively on Windows that same year. But Modern Combat was never released on PC.

It is borderline but I believe that such game deserves a mention here.

edit:

Battlefield 1943 (2009) - PS3, XBOX360 (link)
PC version was planned but later cancelled. Battlefield 1943 is similar to Battlefield 1942 that was PC only.

Far Cry (2014) - PS3, X360 (link) (link)
Released 10 years after the PC original.

Far Cry Instincts (2005) - XBOX (link)
Not released on PC. A remake of the original Microsoft Windows version of Far Cry, Instincts is less open-ended and more linear, due to the console's reduced processing power which prevents the full rendering of the Microsoft Windows version's vast islands and landscape. However, Instincts added new multiplayer modes, weapons, and feral abilities, the latter being reflected in the modified storyline. A port of the game was also planned for the PlayStation 2, but was ultimately canceled.

Far Cry Instincts: Evolution (2005) - XBOX (link)
Not released on PC. A sequel to Far Cry Instincts.

Far Cry Instincts: Predator (2005) - X360 (link) (link)
Not released on PC. Includes graphically enhanced versions of both Far Cry Instincts and Evolution. It featured a map editor in which the player can create maps.

Star Control 2 https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=0iToHVFESBI

One of the greatest PC games of all time which famously found its way to the 3DO. And it didn't suffer for it, because the game is ultimately controlled with just a few keys - making it translate to a gamepad perfectly. I actually enjoy playing this with a gamepad in DOS.

I could also mention Utopia for the SNES, except no one has heard of Utopia.

And the original Star Control was also on the Sega Genesis.

Fortunately The Ur-Quan Masters is derived directly from the 3DO source, so there is no need to go tracking down a 3DO.

IL-2 Sturmovik: Birds of Prey (2009) - PS3, X360, PSP, NDS (link) (link)
The only IL-2 Sturmovik (2001-2019) game that ever made it to consoles. Otherwise it's PC only.

- Starflight (PC, later Mac, Amiga, Atari..) on Sega Genesis (aka Mega Drive)
- Commander Keen (PC) got ported to Gameboy Color

Just chiming in to say that the 3DO port of Doom has some amazing music:

The ported game is poorly optimized and doesn't play that well, but the remixed music tracks are superb.

That was an original game and most definitely not a port, though. You could bring up the Jazz Jackrabbit GBA game for that matter.

I saw that on reddit too. It's amazing. And a boy probably... or maybe a girl? Actually it's an imp. Definitely an imp.

Yeah that lady who composed it did an excellent job. Too bad her work was attached to such a bad console and a mediocre - at best - port.

Duke Nukem 3D on the Mega drive (published in Brazil in 1998, rest of world in 2015. ) was perhaps one of the more unusual ports 😁
