Hi everyone,

Just like to most of you, abbreviations like "CRT" do trigger my attention.

However, this one is not about Cathode Ray Tubes,
It rather stands for "Cognitive Reflection Test".

rather than how much brain power they have.

Okay cyclone, for extra credit how many can 2000 machines make in one minute

Unicorn herding operations are proceeding, but all the totes of hens teeth and barrels of rocking horse poop give them plenty of hiding spots.

Actually, after looking at it again... I think the original answer for the widgets was correct.

For 2000 machines in one minute, it would be 0 because it takes 5 minutes for a machine to make a widget. This is assuming all the machines are the same and they have not broken down the process to make widgets between multiple machines.

I think question 3 can be less straightforward than it seems

1) Days don't have to be measured in integers.
2) Plants don't grow instantly.
3) The coverage of the lake can't be more than 100%.

Given the above points, if you consider that the lake might be covered more than 50% on the 47th day, then it would be 50% covered at some point on the 46th day.

Given the precision implied in the question by only stating 48 days and not 48.0 days, then if it happened on the 46.5 day mark it was still 47 days. 😜

Well, there is no mention of the days being marked at their beginning, their end, or somewhere in between; it's undefined. So, would 46.4 round down to 46? 😉
