Is it worth throwing away nostalgic stuff, old pc games, etc.?

If by throwing away your mean selling, maybe.
Yeah, I hope you don't mean literally throwing away.

Never !
I recycled truckloads in the last big retro collapse when I lost my job and had to remove.
Tried to give it away but no one was willing to pick up freebies.
I did get paid a small amount for gold recovery

How can throwing away something be worth anything? This question doesn't make any sense. Especially if you ask it in a forum full of people who collect old nostalgic stuff...

^Psst. There's a rumor that the OP is a chatbot..
It's more kind of a running gag, though. ;)
I guess we got used to the fact that his topics are, um, rather 'special' often. :)

Perhaps the OP means dead lithium batteries or old used printer ribbons and empty ink cartridges.
I know I get super nostalgic about such items.
Oh noes, the cap let the shmooo out 😁
only if your parents didn't do it 20 years ago 😢
It depends.
Only if it's worthless. What you get from discarding whatever has to be more valuable than what you throw out, regardless of whether it's nostalgic or not.
But usually the only thing you'll get in return is more space. And maybe some kind of psychological comfort. This question is really odd, it could indeed be some kind of chat bot.

Everyone's living and storage space is limited. So there can be value in freeing up space, either for other things or for peace of mind.

If someone went to the trouble of writing a bot then surely they'd provide it with a less inane set of questions to ask.
@Muz prove that you're not a bot - respond to this thread again and explain what prompted you to ask this pointless question in the wrong forum!
Life? Don't talk to me about life.
Madman Muz isn't a bot, but I do think he's a kid.

You should find someone willing to take them.
Its like anything else. If you get rid of some things you just go back and buy even more than before.
All you really need is this for running old software and playing old DOS games:
1) 486dx2-66 or better with 16mb ram. ( DOS/Win3x )
2) Pentium 75 computer with 64mb ram ( DOS/WIn95 )
3) Pentium 2 or 3 computer with 128mb ram ( Win98 )
Basic ISA Sound cards ( Sound Blaster 16, AWE64, Media Vision PAS 16, Yamaha OPL3 )
Basic Video cards ( TSeng 4000, S3, Trident, ATI, Nvidia )
These builds will play and run 95% of software and games.

That's a good summary, but it leaves out a lot of 1980s games. You also need a 4.77 MHz machine with real CGA for those.
