Hi all.
I found this blog, that describe TL866 programmer software that are open source. This blog is Mac centric, but Linux are also mentioned. The reason why I am looking for non Windows sollutions, are that the official software for my TL866-II Plus are Windows only. It also require internet connection, in order to work. No internet (offline), and you can not use the programmer software. It will communicate with the Chinese server and request data, each and every time I start the software. And that leaves me with a kind of feeling that there are something fishy going on. There might not be, but why does it access a chinese server each and every time, in stead of just downloading the data once during install??? Anyway... Here are the link to the software. And it is open source as far as I can see....

TL866 programmer software...

If anyone have tested and tried this software, please let me know. It is one of the last things that I still need Windows for. And I would really like to get rid of Windows except for gaming old games offline. For everyday driver (home banking and all other life related computing) and storing vintage Dos software. As well as the tool for all my other vintage stuff, then I am using nearly fully Linux. It is more or less just this programmer that I need Windows for. And that is not great.

It's a GUI wrapper using minipro under the hood. Haven't used the former so can't comment on it, but so far the latter has always done what I needed it to, so the foundation's solid.

It is instructions on how to install both backend and frontend.

Unfortunately does not support the T48 or T56 yet.

I did not check that, but then again I was focusing on TL866 only.

The minipro software is solid and regularly updated with new device support. I've been using my tl866 on Linux with it for many years. Absolutely no need to use Windows just for this device.
