Hi

I have been tying to fix the problem with music overlapping when guards enter search mode.

https://pcgamingwiki.com/wiki/No_One_Lives_Fo … #Audio_settings

I then downloaded dgvoodoo2_55,and put the directx files in my NOLF 2 directory. The dgVoodoo 2 2.55 worked okay and there was no lag in game with the music.BUT,i now have blocks where text/subtitles should be.(sorry but i couldn't get a screenshot of this).

How do i get the text/subtitles back to normal?.

The problem is with D3D8.dll file, that is corrupting the text/subtitles.

Thanks

Colin

Try setting Output API to Direct3D 11 MS Warp (software) to check if it's a driver bug, otherwise it's probably something wrong with your setup specifically.

Thanks for the tip, that fixed it.Much appreciated.

Um, what? Are you saying setting it to Direct3D 11 MS Warp (software) fixed it? that should be absolutely terrible performance-wise, but it would indicate if there's a driver problem here which would be interesting information.

Yes, if it works with Direct3D 11 MS Warp it could potentially work with much better performance without it if you try experimenting with different driver settings and / or versions. No guarantee though, this game might just not run well with AMD+dgVoodoo2.

Crazily enough, I've just run into the same issue. I'm running an RX 480, so all hope might be lost anyway and I'll just have to turn off the music. I'm not very familiar with a lot of this stuff, so I'm not sure what you mean by experimenting with different driver settings and versions. Do you mean AMD drivers for my GPU or are there some settings I'm missing within dgVooDoo2?
