i notice theres alot of ambiguity between ms windows 3.1 and WFW3.11, rightly so they are very close to being the same thing,
give or take 1 year;

but i've only set up TCP/IP on WFW3.11 in recent years;
i've just installed Win3.1 and have it running in Standard mode on my 386 DX40
im just wondering if theres any special instructions i should follow or differences between installing TCP/IP + Network driver for my D-link ISA card on win3.1 vs wfw3.11

Microsoft TCP/IP-32 3.11b (found at WinWorldPC)
is this all i need?

You should know that old hardware questions should be asked in Marvin. As per the pinned topic in this forum: "This forum is for running old Windows games on NEW (supported) versions of Windows"

That one linked above only works for 3.11 for Workgroups
You want something like Trumpet Winsock (found at WinWorldPC)

or if you want to keep everything MS
You could setup networking in dos, the "Microsoft Network Client 3.0" supports TCP/IP

Have a look at this thread. LAN or TCP/IP with Win 3.11 (NOT WFW)
