can someone point me to a url that will give me ALL the files i need to get usb2.0 working on my win98se box?
its a real pain because i have no working floppy drive and i will have to burn a cd to get the files there
so i dont want to have to be messing about.. i just want to make sure it gets done all in one go..
ive done this before but i forget what files i need etc

i got my win98se installed on my pentium III 1.4ghz machine!
im excited to use some vintage software.. but i need usb 2.0 working to put the files on the machine and
get the network adapter to work aswell etc

At least you'll need a driver for your USB port (specially if you're using a PCI USB card) and that USB MSD driver (nusb33.exe) for pendrive and USB HDD support.

Other devices (gamepads, scanners, printers) will need their own drivers.

I have traveled across the universe and through the years to find Her.
Sometimes going all the way is just a start...

You don't. USB cards follow the UHCI, OHCI, and EHCI standards, for which Windows 98 has drivers included. I'm using a USB 2.0 PCI card made in 2014 in one of my Win98SE machines and it worked without having to install any drivers.

I had a PCI card with VIA chips (it was a USB + FireWire card). It was very unstable until I downloaded and installed the drivers from VIA web.

So, yes, Windows 98 has drivers for most cards... but remember that Microsoft drivers tends to be crappy.
