I have X-Wing Collector's CD-ROM and I'm unable to save sound config. I install the game, launch sound setup, select custom sound setup and advanced, I pick my digital and music sound configuration and when I try to exit I get a message "Current configuration is incomplete and cannot be saved."

Here are the settings:
LucasArts Sound Setup Utility Ver. 2.0

Music: General Midi
Port: 330

Digital Sound: AWE32
Port: 220
IRQ: ?
DMA: ?
Stereo Reverse: 0

When I choose Test Digital and Test Music all sounds/music plays correctly.
The IRQ and DMA selection is grayed out with question mark, hovering over the question mark says: "IRQ/DMA not configurable in this program".

I've tried launching sound setup in DOS 7 and also DOS window in Win98 with same results. I also tried picking different sound settings. The game itself works fine, I just can't configure sound. Is there perhaps a file I can edit manually to set sound config?

I made some progress, if I let the config utility autodetect, it will select SB16 with correct IRQ and DMA. If I then try to change SB16 to anything else, IRQ and DMA get reset to ? and is greyed out. So basically, I need to stick with autodetect.
