Messing around with this under-appreciated game on my K6-2+ system. I just noticed that performance doesn't seem to change much regardless of what I set the resolution to.

At 640x480, I get 15~20FPS in open areas or where there's enemies around, up to 30FPS when I'm facing a wall & nothing's going on.
At 1600x1200, it's almost exactly the same.

Vsync is OFF in my 3DFX settings. I'm not running anything other GPU tweak utils (RivaTuner, etc.)

I guess this is a CPU bottleneck, or am I leaving performance on the table somewhere? I know this is a pretty demanding game for its time. If it makes no difference, I do like playing at 1600x1200, but a few more FPS would be nice.

System specs:
K6-2+/577 (5.5x105)
ASUS P5A-B
Voodoo3 3000 @ 166MHz
ALi AGP driver tweaked to all hell (basically maxed out)
384MB PC105 @ 222-6-9

Update: Vsync was on in the game options. That got me a fairly decent boost.

(Rant: why do you have to ENABLE a checkbox to DISABLE vsync? Grfmgrflgr...)

I still only get ~10-20% FPS difference between 640x480 and 1600x1200, but it's reasonably playable at all resolutions now. TBH I'm surprised how decent 1600x1200 gaming cam be on an old V3.
