Here is a video showing the web browser market share over the years. Enjoy...😉

RIP Netscape, best browser I have ever used.

So true!
I wish there was a browser with the look&feel of Netscape Communicator, and with full support for the modern Web.
SeaMonkey is close, but could be closer...

Remember when IE6 still lingered and everyone laughed at them for not upgrading...
Looking back, it seems like mandatory IE6 support for sites was a blessing in disguise, by setting a ceiling on web developers' "innovation", limiting complexity of JavaScript (no JIT), etc...

I'm probably within the minority of not having a fond memory of Netscape: 1.x and 2.x were fine, but starting from 3.x the program started slowing down my 386 back then, and 4.x Communicator was worse. I also found Communicator forcing user to have individual "profiles" annoying; I just want to browse the web ASAP. Last but not least: I don't like those pastel color schemes.

Seamonkey can still be configured to back to Communicator 4.x layout and buttons, and there's a few themes that bring back the Seamonkey 1.x/Communicator4 graphics (Seazilla etc) so all the old Netscape familiarism can still be had. (no good Netscape1/2/3 themes that I know of however, and nothing for IE3/4-6 / MacIE themes either)

Seamonkey's got worse problems regarding downstream treatment though, and there's probably no support for widevine drm for any modern streaming service either way anyhow....

Seazilla looks promising, but...
"This add-on is not compatible with your version of SeaMonkey."

Is there anything like that, but for the current SeaMonkey version?

I have last Seamonkey for XP themed to look like Netscape Communicator. And for Windows 98 I have Netscape 9.0.0.6 with roytam1’s patch for a slight better browsing experience on https sites. Not 100%, but good enough for classic sites
