You got an analog audio cable connecting your cd drive to the sound card? The in game music in the original Worms is CDDA, haven't played the United version but I assume it's the same there.

Uhhh... nope, I do not. Never thought I needed it. But I guess I do now. This must be one of those rare Dos games where you need to have the CD in at all times and it actually pulls stuff from there.
