hi!
i have trouble getting hexen 2 to work om my win98 machine, i have the cd but i can't run install or setup to install the game, i also tried to install patch that makes it possible to run i without a cd, that doesn't work.
i tried running it with the cd in the cd-rom drive but when i exit the game, the computer restarts.

is there any other way to get this game working? i know there's a source port called hammer of thyrion.
does that port work on windows 98?

btw, here' my pc specs:
pentium 3 500 mhz
nvidia fx 5200 graphics card
384 mb ram
soundblaster 16 sound card

Geforces are allergic to palette changes and SciTech MGL libraries. run with -dibonly

Hexen 2 never required the CD to play (apart from having explicitly installed a minimum installation), so whatever patch you're finding is questionable.

I use Hammer of Thyrion 1.5.9. Both GL and Software work great on Win 98.

Just extract zip into them hexen 2 folder. Then you can use either exe (gl or software)!

One thing I remembered, is you do have to update Hexen 2 to 1.11 first. So you'll need the official patch file as well. 1. Install Hexen II. 2. Install update. 3. Extract HoT archive into Hexen 2 folder.
