There's no 3Dfx Voodoo 3 patch, it works with the following.

I have those.

I see a lot of people on forums in 1999 and 2000 talking about a voodoo3 patch that was there back then.

I'm trying to make fifa 99 run on my Voodoo5 5500. Someone here said to try and use the voodoo3 patch.

I played Fifa 99 back then with both the Voodoo 2 and the Voodoo 3. I only used the patch I mentioned you.

I also used on my latest 3Dfx vintage build with Voodoo 3 3000 AGP and it works.

There's also a registry update for FIFA '99 to recognize newer cards. Many EA games have the issue around this time period.

FIFA 99 1.1 patch (FIFA99PATCH.EXE, 1957 KiB) adds Voodoo3 to 3DDATA.DAT (and enable 800×600 with 1024×768 resolutions for Voodoo3, Voodoo2 and Banschee).

P.S. EA Sports games detect Voodoos through Vendor_ID/Device_ID. Try to add Voodoo5 data to the Voodoo3 record:
1) Add 1 to the value of the "HKLM\SOFTWARE\Electronic Arts\3D Data\Card21\Types" key. IIRC the default value is 2 so the new value will be 3.
2) Create the "HKLM\SOFTWARE\Electronic Arts\3D Data\Card21\Type<X>" node where <X> is the new value from 1). So the name will be "Type3".
3) Create DeviceID and VendorID DWORD keys in the "HKLM\SOFTWARE\Electronic Arts\3D Data\Card21\Type<X>" node. They values must be D_ID/V_ID for Voodoo5 (0x00000009 and 0x0000121a).

1) Change the value of "HKLM\SOFTWARE\Electronic Arts\3D Data\Card21\Type1\DeviceID" key to 9 (0x00000009).
Then try 3DSETUP.EXE.
