I even attempted to access the files from here: Adlib Gold clone - 2THEMAX SoundMedia Multimedia Board? (tinyupload) and the site has been dead since last year.

Was going to upload to vogonsdrivers but the scan of the manual is not up to my standards for scanning, so the disks and manual are just on my Google Drive for now:

Here's my newly acquired card.

Everything arrived in 1 piece, including the potentiometer for the volume control.

I'll backup the EPROM contents as well in case anyone needs it for the card that has a missing chip.

I've got a Amstrad made Adlib clone. Does anyone else have one of these?

It was sold with the Amstrad 5286
I have one 5286, but not the sound card... 🙁

My 5286 was a piece of crap. Normal fdd issue. My card is in my XT Turbo system now.

Wow, some of these cards I have never heard of. Here I was thinking I was hot stuff with my GUS Max 2.1 🤣

Earlier in the topic people were wondering about MCA sound cards and yep all of them are rare and command thousands of $ when they appear on ebay. The most notable are the ChipChat, SoundPiper, and Sound Blaster MCV. The exception is the M/ACPA, which I have in both ISA and MCA variants. Neither are particularly useful for gaming, nor do they seem to be rare. The MCA one was about $20 off of Ebay a few years ago and the ISA one was new old stock for about $80 at about the same time. I have the original driver disks for the ISA version if they’d be useful for anyone.

Early 90s: IBM PS/2 Server 95/A, Pentium 66, 16MB RAM, XGA-2, IBM SCSI Corvette, SCSI2SD, 3 Com EtherLink III MCA, Resound 2 AdLib MCA
Late 90s: Micron Millenia MXE, ABIT VH6-II, Coppermine 1ghz, 1024MB, Voodoo 5 5500 PCI, GUS Max 2.1, 128GB SATA PNY SSD

I cannot see an eprom on this card?
if you mean the LMC385 then it's a mixer/volume controller

That's what it is. I thought it was an EPROM for some reason.

The card works without issues and no scratching noises when I change the volume level.

Hi,
still searching for photo of the JDF-SOUNDMEDIA001. Card with Yamaha YMZ263B chipset like Adlib Gold.
A found only old discussion from 1997 or 1998 and dead link to ebay.
Have someone real card or saved photos of the card?

let me know if you want more detailed ones

Terratec Profimedia
yet another SB 1.x clone
the "MPOWER DSP202" would suggest SB 2.0, but no, it returns DSP version 1.05 = no auto-init DMA = poor quality in certain software

Wonder what the optocoupler (Sharp PC900V) is doing on that card.

Nice one. I had a feeling someone would know 😀
All the date-codes from 1992-3 on this card.
https://dosdays.co.uk/topics/Manufacturers/terratec.php
>TerraTec Electronic GmbH. TerraTec are a German audio hardware company that started in 1994.
So TerraTec started by reselling this noname Taiwanese clone. Grzyb how did you know? even googling 'Terratec Profimedia' directly doesnt return any info/pictures.
Yamaha YM3812 might be a clone judging by the shape of plastic package and sanded off markings. The package matches SC801 Anchor Electronics - Media Concept 2.0 Souncard - SB 2.0 clone with real OPL2

All three missing bottom chips are PALs, that and no OPL2 means there is no point trying to revive this $5 scrap 🙁.

looking at my picture with just a missing socket I assumed it to be YM3014B external DAC, but looks like YM3014B is U8 next to it, it even has provisions for another footprint, maybe LS5122/YAC512?

Your Google is broken, I've found another such card - 254716928253 on The Site That Should Not Be Named(TM) 🤣

verfluchten, google decided not to remind me about the great war and hides German content
Again 93-94 date-codes, PCB has 9352 date-code itself. "mine" has 9411. So Terratec might have been selling this renamed clone pre 1994 in parallel with Taiwanese noname bootlegs. The only clue is "Breve" also used on https://dosdays.co.uk/topics/images/breve_aim16f.jpg, but curiously on other chips leaving MPOWER DSP202 not remarked. Same DAC08. Breve stickers on what looks like OPL3/DAC512 clones, most likely same factory.

This third card OPL DAC is not scraped. FR90174 is a new one for a YM3014B clone. From my previous investigations Re: Master Boomer J5QMF-00 Sound Card Princeton Tech (PTC) did a complete OPL2 clone around 1992.
