386+ ? If such things would work on XT that would be NICE.

I mean, the card itself will work just fine on an XT, just like the OPL2LPT works perfectly fine on an XT. It's just then that you need to patch the games to support the device. With a 386 you can use protected mode tricks trap I/O writes to the CMS and use that to write to the parallel port.

Redesigning the CMSLPT to a more compact board using SMD components.
Also working with Peter on new drivers : new release available here : https://github.com/pdewacht/cmslpt/releases/tag/v0.3

The resistors on the left side look tiny! Is that 0402 or is the perspective fooling me?

I got one recently (The 8-Bit Guy's online shop) and I like it, but it interferes with my Sound Blaster clone card that uses port 220h and every Sierra On-Line point n click game (VGA remastered or VGA variants, like King's Quest V, Police Quest 3 and 1 VGA, and many others) game is hard coded for port 220h and cannot be changed for sound effects and voices.

I'm attempting to change the HW Address for the CMSLPT file (source files) to port 210h-21Fh and keep hitting snags. Although, the CLPTTEST file runs without issues, just the games are not registering port 210 at all and I'm not sure where to go at this point.

I've made a new CMSLPT TSR release that fixes this problem with two new options:

First there's an option to choose a different base port, e.g. 210 or 230. I don't know how useful this will be in practice, I think most games only work with port 220.

Second there's an option to put it in "Sound Blaster add-on" mode. Basically on early Sound Blaster cards you could install SAA1099 chips to gain CMS compatibility, and this option emulates that. Here you use the same base port as your sound card. With newer cards (Sound Blaster Pro and later) you'd lose stereo FM support, but other than that there should be no issues.

Get it here: https://github.com/pdewacht/cmslpt/releases/tag/v1.0

Thanks. Downloaded it recently and it works. No issues here on my computer, except I had to plug in the CMSLPT to the speakers directly since my Aztech Sound Galaxy NX Pro 16 decided to make a buzzing noise using the mic input, but I might be able to fix that by connecting the 4 port A/V switch box to the speakers directly with the sound card and connect the CMSLPT back to the sound card line in.

For JP2, is that for power if, for example, I would like to use the computer's PS/2 port or AT port to power on the unit or not really? Out of curiosity here is all.

It would be great to develope something like a SoftMPU to just select General MIDI as music output device in games for original CMS/Game blaster on port 220h and CMSLPT on LPT port... Hook a 330h/331h ports and convert "on the fly" MIDI messages or MIDI notes to SAA1099 synths commands like this https://github.com/Bobcatmodder/SAATunes library or similar.
