The Vortex2 makes a really good DOS sound card IMHO - good SB Pro compatibly and a working wavetable header (which needs to be populated because the FM synth is horrid!).

Yes a Dreamblaster S2 would be a good option, or something like this (which is what the Vortex2 based Diamond Monster came with):

Could be a mixer issue I guess?

Probably, I got four zeros when I put au30mix.exe in CD audio line.

4 zeros means the gain is at maximum already

So, why doesn't it work?
