I have an AWE32 PnP (www.vogonswiki.com/index.php/Creative_S ... _PnP_(IDE)) which is throwing errors. The card appears as a Plugin Play card in the BIOS POST, and I can hear voices in King's Quest 6 CD, but no music. In AUTOEXEC.BAT I have this line:

1C:\SB16\AWEUTIL /S

Which is outputting this:

1AWEUTIL TSR   Version 1.11
2Copyright (c) Creative Technology Ltd, 1994 All rights reserved.

4ERR012: AWE initialization failed

Right above it is the line:

1C:\SB16\DIAGNOSE /S

Which is outputting this:

1Audio card is configured at A220 I5 D1 H5

When I run

1C:\SB16\DIAGNOSE

I see this error:

1              DSP version: 4.16
2** Error: AWE32 Chip Testing **
3The hardware chip required for Advanced WavEffects
4Synthesis is found to be missing or faulty.

6Please run this diagnostic utility again.

8If this error persists, then call the Technical
9Support Line shown in the installation note.

Any ideas of things I can try and test or replace?

A Sound Test for as many games as I can find at SNDTST.com

What drivers are you using?
Did you download them from Creative's website or did they come with the card?
