I have an AWE64 Gold that I want to use in Win98 only, not DOS. I have a GUS + SBPro for DOS. GUS uses 240,7,7 & SBPro uses 220,5,1. How can I configure the AWE64 Gold in Win98 to work properly, avoiding conflicts?

Do you also plan to use the SBPro/GUS in Windows? If not, you can just disable them in the Device Manager and they will not take up any resources.

Does the system have a Plug&Play capable BIOS? If not, it's easy. The AWE64 does nothing if not initialized by Plug&Play or CTCM. So in pure DOS with no Plug&Play, you can use the SBPro and the AWE64 is more or less invisible. In Win98, just use resources that are not taken by the SBPro or GUS and all is fine.

And while dr_st has a point here, I'm not sure if it works that way. The SBPro is not a Plug&Play card. It will use the resources it is jumpered to no matter if enabled or disabled in Windows. Windows can not control the resources used by a non-Plug&Play card. So be careful if you plan to use shared resources - it may freeze the system.

I'm using all mentioned sound cards in one system simultaneously.
SB Pro A220 I7 D1
SB AWE A240 I5 D3 P300
GUS A260 I3 D7
MPU-401 P330 I2/9
Don't forget to disable COM and LPT ports, and ACPI also.

Is it possible to disable the MPU port on the AWE64 card?
Also, I believe that the traditional IRQ for the GUS is 11, and IO port is 240h, leaving the lower IRQs free for a mouse/modem or other.

Don't doubt please. It's all possible.
Cbb, by the way Roland/clones MPU-401 can work on IRQ2(9) with ACPI enabled. And AWE can work on IRQ2(9) only if ACPI is disabled.
I use the similar configuration many years. This is my version:
SB Pro (clone) A220 I7 D1
SB 16 (clone) A240 I5 D0 H5
GUS A250 I3 H7
SB AWE64 A260 I9 D3 H6 E640 --- MPU and FM are disabled

It is necessary to disable COM2 (IRQ3 for GUS) and sometimes you should disable LPT too (if conflicts).
tpowell.ca, many games won't work if SB or GUS have IRQ11. They show message IRQ must be 7 or less. Port 240 is not "traditional" for GUS too, it is unreason.
Real traditional IRQ11 is for WSS and games work with WSS on IRQ11.
Real traditional IO220 is for SB/SBpro because some old games won't work if it is not 220. A same is about DMA1 for SB/SBpro.
SB16 can be on any IO 220/240/260, any IRQ 5/7/9(2) and any DMAs 013567. The late games (which can SB16) work with any resources without problem (except IRQ7 or less).
