Yes, that's the problem. In my Celeron 566 system with similar VIA chipset board, these OPTi cards without proper oscillator behave the same.

You can solve it if you have some soldering skills:

For MED3931 card:

1- Remove R1 SMD resistor
2- Add a 14.318 Mhz crystal oscillator to X1

Optionally, you can add ~10pF SMD capacitors to C9 and C10

No problem then. I do not need to make it work in this PC, I just wanted to report in case there was a compatibility problem with unisound. Will re-test this card later though with a slower machine. Thank you!

I already contacted JazeFox for this (I have a bunch of them) and said that OPTi82C929A arent PnP so he cant/wont support them for the moment.

Ok, I tested a new batch of cards:
-ALS120, ES1868F and proper OPTi 82C931 (with a 14.318 Mhz crystal oscillator), all worked great.

I had problems with 2 cards, both with Crystal CX4235-XQ3 chip.
-1st one (generic) appears to be non-pnp so I cant seem to initialize it with Unisound
-2nd one (Genius) its a PnP card, it gets initialized, but I can't get ANY sound on any game. What could be the problem? Do you need a dumpp?
EDIT: all Crystal CX4235-XQ3 cards are dead...

Thanks for reporting. I had some ID additions ready for 0.72b (including yours) but I forgot to add them at the end. They'll be added in the next version.

I don't see any ESS card in those dumps. I only see an Aztech 2320 card there.

UniSound does not detect any PnP cards. Enabling/disabling in the BIOS doesn't change the behavior. I guess your explanation makes sense.

@JazeFox, thanks a bunch for this amazingly useful tool! I had all kinds of problems with Crystal's own DOS drivers, but your tool works like a charm with my CX4237.

I had noticed in your version update v0.71c
- Enable on-board WaveTable sound on AD181x cards with YMF704/QS1000 WT ICs

It seems UNISOUND may (?) already have the foundation in place, to support my card. However, currently UNISOUND says my card is unsupported ("Not compatible yet"), and will not load. Could you possibly help please?
