I read some models have a TDA1517, but not sure about this one.

I wired a little internal speaker and connected to speaker out, but even when maxed out it's way too quiet. IIRC some older soundblasters had jumpers to enable/disable onboard amplification, but the 3900 doesn't, does it?

I have no clue what I'm doing! If you want to watch me fumble through all my retro projects, you can watch here: https://www.youtube.com/user/MrDavejustdave

AFAIK, the ones with jumpers to enable/disable amplification had a single combined line/speaker out . The speaker out should be amplified and thus louder than the line-out, AFAIK .

Yeah looks like I'll have to find an alternative. i *really* want an internal speaker, going to see if I can find a tiny amp that can be driven off a molex connectgor
