I'm having some sound related issues with the Audigy 2 in Windows 98. I've got it installed fine and it's working, but CD audio from images mounted through Daemon Tools is constantly skipping. I tried another Audiy 2 card I had (exact same model) and it experienced the same issue, but using an SB Live that I have works fine so I'm assuming it's an issue specific to the Audigy 2. I'd prefer to use the Audigy 2 if I can since I have the 5.25" front panel bay for it. I'm not sure what the issue might be, though.

What is your system configuration?

-Motherboard
-CPU
-RAM
-Audigy 2 driver version
-etc;

These will all help us understand your problem better.

Try the solution in this thread to get the VXD drivers installed, replacing the WDM drivers may help:

Audigy 2 Win98 VXD drivers for non-ZS models

EDIT: Disregard. 98SE will likely only support global digital audio extraction with WDM audio drivers installed. Some posts disagree with this assessment, so not a sure-thing.

That's what I thought as well. However, it's now all working.

I had fully switched over the Live! in the meantime since it at least worked correctly, and I installed the drivers for the Audigy 2 ZS following Phil's guide: https://www.philscomputerlab.com/sound-blaster-live.html

When I swapped in the Audigy 2 it was recognized and Windows installed the drivers, afterwards it's working perfectly. If anything ever goes awry then I'll give that other disc a shot, but at least on the surface it appears that the Audigy 2 ZS VxD drivers work for this case.
