I started using a SB16 (CT2800 ISA model) in Win98se and it seems to be working. Are the built in Win98 drivers the best drivers to use, or is it better practice to install the latest drivers from Creative's website.

Installed sbw9xup.exe dated [4 November 1998]
SDR-95UPD-1-US (Revision 16)

These appear to be the latest from creative but are older than the drivers in Win98. It fixes a full duplex issue recording and playing music. I tried it recording from line in when playing sound on a game and it is working now.

Try the right one from here. Best from my expirience are the ones which came with the CD/Disk with the Card Itself. Updating
wasnt much common in the 98 days, besides the OS maybe...

Tried a few more from the above link. Strange part is the latest drivers still predate the ones built in to Win98, yet they fix the full duplex issue. I would have thought the later win98 built in drivers would be cumulative and progressive, including the previous fixes.
The only newer win9x drivers I have yet to test are the ones build in to WinMe.

Why do you want newer Drivers? As ive said its not like nowdays best drivers are the ones shipped in regular with the hardware. So even if they are somehow "older" i would use them. Graphics Cards of that time improve alot by older Drivers or better said Drivers close of or after release.
