Do any of the tools floating out there allow one to set the mixer settings for a YMF715 at the command line? I’d like to run a wavetable board simultaneously with an MT32-pi and it’d be nice to easily be able to mute/enable the correct channels without having to go into the full mixer each time.

Assuming you are asking about pure DOS environment? Any soundblaster pro compatible mixer will work.

I use SBPVOL (search for "SBPVOL DOS") to make mixer changes. It is a TSR, that when loaded allows you to use keyboard shortcuts, but you can run it in "batch mode" where you specify the volumes you want on the command line and no TSR is loaded. I use it to reset the mixer after games run that changes it, and also to mute/un-mute line-in and cd-in when necessary. So exactly what you are looking for.
