I've been passing these up for years and never had a Voodoo II in my collection before. So when I spotted what looked like a good deal on eBay for what I think is a pair of 12mb cards with all cables, I jumped on it.

Are these the 8mb or 12mb variants of the Voodoo II?

if all chips are populated that's 12MB, on the 8MB version 8 chips on the backside would be missing and just have empty pads.
so the one you can see the back of is 12MB, I'd assume that means the other one is too, but can't be 100% sure without seeing it's back too.

Only aware of the STB cards with 90mhz ram with chips on 1 side to be 12mb cards. All the other 12mb cards I've seen are 100mhz ram with chips on both sides. I have a couple of these cards. They must be a cheap version of the 12mb voodoo post 3dfx takeover of stb.

The STB cards version C are 90mhz and made in early 99, with only 1 side populated with 1mb chips

I don't think they're STB. PCB says made in Taiwan while STB produced in Mexico if I'm not mistaken.
Still cool cards.

I've got the same card as kixs. Wasn't sure about the manufacturer either, but according to http://www.vgamuseum.info/index.php/companies … 4-3dfx-voodoo-2 they're called PowerColor EvilKing II. Definitely a nice card to have 😀

Correct. I remember when I got them I searched and did find the same... just forgot about it 🤣 And it seems everyone knows the one sided are from STB... That's why I posted my. Too bad they are not the same revision 😉

Requests are also possible... /msg kixs
