No worries. What GeorgeMan and I are trying to say is that some universal cards are also capable of running at 8X speeds. They'll handle the full gamut.

In any case, my friend at work actually ended up finding a GeForce 2 MX-400 as well, so that's the one I took off his hands. It should be more suitable to my machine than the Radeon 9200 LE.

EDIT: And I went ahead and installed it tonight. Seems to be running fairly stably, but it's right beside the Voodoo 3. Only one will be in use at a time, but airflow is probably not ideal. I think it's time to finally put a case fan or two in my Retro PC.

I opt for a radon 9600 as it was fanless and latest model win98 can support.
