I recently picked up a 486 system that had been gathering dust for two decades. Most of it was pretty self-explanatory, but the video card has me a bit stumped. It's a Diamond Stealth 64 VLB card for sure with 1MB soldered and a second MB upgrade in the sockets, but that's where the certainty ends. The PCB is a regular Stealth 64 DRAM VLB PCB (rev A3 to be precise), but there are three differences:

- a sticker over the STEALTH 64 DRAM VLB marking, with simply "Stealth Video" on it.
- the BIOS chip has "Diamond Stealth 64 Video 2000 series ver. 1.02" on it instead of the regular "Stealth 64 DRAM"
- the VGA chip is an 868, not the normal 864.

Googling "Stealth 64 Video 2000 VLB" gets me a whole load of cards, but nothing that matches what I have here.

Here's the card, any ideas?

There are several variants of the Diamond Stealth64 2000 VLB. For instance, a while ago I got a boxed Model 2200 (2MB DRAM-VLB):

Mine seems to be a pretty late version, since it has a Trio64 chip instead of the Vision864 and the package came with ads for the Monster3D, so this would indicate around 1996-97 probably.

I cannot seem to find reference to the specific model (2200) in any other place than the box, so you may need to do some digging to find that about yours...

EDIT: also, 868 instead of 864 means that it has video acceleration, much like Trio64 vs Trio64V+

TheMobRules's answer already explains it, AFAIK.

Since recently I have a Diamond Stealth 64 VLB as well. But it is perfectly standard issue. It also has the HAstec reseller sticker on the back.

What is on sticker at PCB, that counts....thats why this one is Stealth Video...they just later renamed whole line to "Stealth64 Video 2000 Series - formerly Stealth Video DRAM" as says diamond driver page...

Tnx, that looks like the answer- although I still can't find any pics of exactly this board only. Looks like I need to rectify that in the Vogons Wiki 😀

The press release surprises me a bit - I had a PCI 868 in a PC bought in late January/early February 1995. I was aware at the time it was pretty much top-of-the-bill, but in retrospect I wouldn't have expected to have a card with a chip Diamond wouldn't be releasing for another few months.
