FYI i am currently using a ATi Rage XL PCI 8MB card in my Am486 DX4-100. System is running WFW 3.11 and DOS 6.22
It isn't the BEST card in the world, but so far it's been pretty compatible and it does work with the ATi MACH64 drivers if I remember correctly under 3.11
It was pretty cheap too, just a thought.

I actually own one of those cards and it does not work in my socket 3 board.

That sucks. My board is a Asus pvi-486sp3 and it seems to support most any PCI cards i've thrown at it.
I used to use a Trident card of some sort, can't remember what but the ATi seemed to be a bit better.
