It makes about zero sense. V3 3000 was faster where it counted, and in that era of windowns software you often had no way of selecting which card to use.

That was one of my doubts, regarding card selection, although in windows I would assume it would be as easy as disabling whichever card you want to disable in devoice manager...

Regarding which was faster, so far when googling about this and finding instead posts about performance, everything I found says quite the opposite..?

Not with a TNT as performance is still pretty close but something later it may make sense.
I've got a P3 1Ghz with a Ti4600 as the primary and V3 as the secondary.

Most Glide games also supported D3d so if you select D3D it'll just show on the primary device. If you select Glide it HAS to go to the voodoo so doesn't matter that its not primary. For one or 2 games that this doesn't work for setting PCI as the primary adapter in BIOS does the trick, Works well enough for me.

Ideally I'd have desperate machines though, I'm just doing this because I can.

Sweet. I know it’s probably the same, but just in case it’s a TNT2, not the first one.

So having both a PCI Voodoo 3 (2000) and an AGP Voodoo 3 (3000), besides hoarding/stocking, regardless of whether it makes sense or not for the dual setup, would there be any point in keeping the AGP one, or just keep the PCI one and sell the AGP version?

I enjoy having a PCI version since it provides more compatibility with different systems and the performance difference is literally 0. Which is a bonus.

That 2000 will clock to 3000+ speeds no problem I bet. Just add some cooling on the heatsink or blowing towards the card at least.
