Would an ATI Radeon X1300 PRO 256MB GDDR2 128-Bit AGP 4X/8X Video Card be a good choice? I can get a used one for around 60 bucks. Also, would it work with my current 6.2 drivers?

EDIT Sorry, current specs are
Compaq UWAVE2 motherboard
Sound Blaster Live! Value sound card
AMD Athlon processor @ 1.3 ghz
768 mb ram
64 mb ATI Radeon 7000

No . Windows 9x support for Radeons stops at the X800 (inclusively).

$60 for a X1300 seems very expensive. Also that card wouldn't be compatible with Win98 as there are no drivers available. Go for the X#00 series or Nvidia Fx series card.
Cheers

You might also look into a FireGl series card or a Radeon 8500. Not as powerful as a 9700/9800 but if you want to stick with ATi, it's a decent step up from the Radeon 7000.

I have a 256MB FireGL 8800 that does pretty decent considering. It will also work with the vanilla Radeon 8500 drivers.

I may have found a FireGL 8800 @ 128mb for a reasonable price, thanks for the recommend!

For 9x you want Nvidia or 3dfx, look for say an fx 5600 ultra/5700 ultra/5900

I wouldn't say you strictly need Nvidia. I am very happy on 9x with my Radeon 9600XT and I've yet to find a game that can't run on it.

I'll look into that as well. Thank you!

Guess I should have done more research first. I cannot find any Windows 9x drivers that work with my new(old) ATI FireGL 8800 128mb card. It's been a wash so far. Does anyone have any better ideas? Drivers that work? Help a brother out.

EDIT I reread and did what was suggested(ish), I forced it to use Radeon 8500 drivers, seems to be working so far, need to try some games.
