Ok thanks, that's a start 😄

If anyone has news of other versions, like 5.0 for WinXP and Vista or 4.9 for Win98 / Me could they share them?

As soon as I have collected all the available material, I intend to collect it in an archive to share on the Vogons Library.

Thanks everyone for the help! 😁

So, I update you with the point of the situation:

1. the official website of the ChroMetal driver releases was retrieved via Wayback Machine
https://web.archive.org/web/20070114015326/ht … ://www.s3g.net/
Unfortunately, the links to the drivers do not work 🙁

2. thanks to the help of zyga64 and a little luck, I now have the following drivers:
- Windows 2000 / XP ChroMetal ver. 4.9 (the link for ver. 4.3 doesn't seem to work)
- Windows 9x / Me ChroMetal ver. 4.4 and ChroMetal ver. 4.5 (latest version produced for Win9x family)

As promised, as soon as I have collected as many drivers as possible, with the consent of the Vogons Library managers, I will make a single archive available with what has been collected.
So I'm still looking for your help to find more 😀

What cards was ChroMetal available for?

Would it have been provided on a driver CD?

Edit: Nevermind about the driver CD. ChroMetal was an unofficial driver.

As far as I was able to understand by reading old reviews on the forums, it would seem that the latest versions of the ChroMetal drivers are the most efficient and therefore the ones that would be preferable to find.

But hey, I don't say no to any version, just have them to try 😉

Thanks everyone for the help

Here is 4.4 for Vista.

Found here and cludged my way through making an account on a Korean web page so I could download it:
http://www.bcpark.net/bbs/259651

Filename
ChroMetal44_vista.zip
File size
1.19 MiB
Downloads
51 downloads
File license
Public domain

Edit:
4.4 for XP x64 / 2003 x64 can be downloaded from here:
https://www.bodnara.co.kr/bbs/bbs.html?imode= … w&D=8&num=79798

I have uploaded it to my Google Drive for now since it was a pain to download:
So far has:
4.3 XP/2000
4.4 XP x64 / 2003 x64
4.4 Vista

https://drive.google.com/drive/folders/16J8nJ … vPH?usp=sharing

I will add any more I find there as well... and I will update this post.

Ok, I managed to download from Bodnara (the problem was Chrome 😭)

I now have several old versions of ChroMetal and a version for Windows Vista (however they are only supported the latest S3 cards 😔)

Did you find any more than I have found so far on Bodnara?

The page for 4.3 had a really large list of supported cards including really old ones.

Easy way: Upload elsewhere and drop the link here: VOGONS Driver Library

Hard way: stay on VOGONS long enough with a decently sized post history and decent reputation, and then send a request for an account as a private message to SquallStrife (the creator and admin of VOGONSDrivers).

I have uploaded your collection to VOGONSDrivers:
http://www.vogonsdrivers.com/getfile.php?fileid=1848

Please note that if more versions are found and this driver pack needs to be updated, VOGONSDrivers requires this entry to be deleted and a new upload created.
Therefore, be careful when passing around the link.
(However, the descriptive text can always be edited.)
