When I noticed that the fan wasn't spinning on this when powered on, I took a closer look at it and was impressed by how thick the rust had gotten inside of it. The fan is very seized up and won't spin at all, even with some pressure on the fan blades.

The ard is in otherwise good condition, but it's clear that the rest of it was cleaned at some point. Maybe someone dunked it in the sink before storing it away without letting the fan dry out first. That's my best guess.

The seller said in the listing that this came from a climate controlled storage unit, so I don't know when the damage would have occurred within its life.

Fortunately, this type of cooler was very common and easy to replace.

I must be some kind of standard: the anonymous gangbanger of the 21st century.
