Hi, I'm trying to play the old alone in the dark 1,2,3 series on
an athlon700 win98SE and soundblasterlive. Can't seem to get audio support and double click on up arrow to make carnby run doesn't work. On my intel486 win311 same game all ok. Any idea?

Sounds like classic VOGONS syndrome. Since you have a system where it all works, you might want to keep it around; there's no guarantees here.
Let's try the one with the best chance at success: Alone in the Dark 3.
It was a DOS/Windows hybrid; using Windows audio, but DOS for everything else. Install that using the Windows installer and make sure that the setup is NOT using any kind of audio (Strangely enough, this is how it knows to use the Windows audio). Then run the game while in Windows. Getting sound?
