I have this problem. When I get a quest from a guild (mages, warriors exc.) and I'll have to kill someone, for example a creature in a shop (quest of warriors), I feel the creature (and I can hit that) but I can't see the monster! And I can't see the body! Also, when I have to poison the wine or steal the cloth, I can't see them, so I can't do the quest. HELP!!!!!

Yep, the invisible bug. It happens on most systems with the NT kernel. Why, I have no idea.

Half a kingdom to the one who can come up with a solution 😉

In ye olde Official Daggerfall FAQ (http://12.145.63.45/~uesp/dagger/dagfaq12.shtml), Bethesda says that QEMM running in Stealth mode causes this problem.

There is probably something in Windows XP's memory management that is very similar that causes the same problem.

Here's an overview.

It's entirely possible that someone could use DOSBox's (or another program's) debugger to figure out what the problem is, and solve it. Maybe if you ask Qbix nicely. 😀

Question: do ANY of Daggerfall's patches make the problem disappear, if you incrementally upgrade Daggerfall and test it?

They should either remake Daggerfall with the Morrowind engine or release it for free as an expansion to Morrowind. That would be great. Like that would ever happen. 🙁
