The compatibility list over at Nglide is pretty accurate. You can start with that:

I did that already.

What I am looking to do is remove the CRAP from Mobygames and such.

So, please help DISPROVE and DEBUNK these if you can? 😁

Thank you. Changes made.

In case people are wondering, my endgame is to:
- update MobyGames with corrected information
- update my original posts that are quoted and criticized so frequently
- if possible, use my moderator privileges where necessary to update other similar API lists on VOGONS
- provide food for wrapper/emulator authors

😁

Keep 'em coming folks! 😁

Games I have/know about:

* ABC Sports Indycar Racing - Direct3D I believe, need to check
* BreakNeck - may have Glide mode
* Colin McRae Rally - Direct3D only I think
* Daytona USA Deluxe - definitely Direct3D only
* Evil Knievel - not sure it's even 3D accelerated, need to check
* F1 Racing Simulation - 3Dfx Glide version comes with it, various patches for it. Same with Monaco Grand Prix Racing Simulation 2
* F1 Simulation Pro - no idea what this is, never heard of it and I have all the F1 games. Possibly became VGP2 - Virtual Grand Prix 2?
* F1 World Grand Prix 2000 - Direct3D only
* Flight Unlimited 2 - might have Glide but I don't have it installed, only FU3 with FU2 scenery added 😒
* Ford Racing - Direct3D only I think
* Formula 1 Championship Edition - F197 isn't it? If so = Glide
* Formula One 2 - no idea what this is. You are missing Official F1 Racing which has Glide 3Dfx mode
* Global Defender - I have this, Missile Command game, it's OpenGL
* Grand Prix 3 - Direct3D
* Grand Touring Cars - Grand Touring I guess (early engine for Ford Racing), Direct3D only I think, not sure
* Hover Ace - Hover Ace is a recent Direct3D racing game. There was also Hover Race I believe, ancient game, not sure!
* Indycar Racing: Indianapolis 500 - Add on for the DOS game, not accelerated
* Insane - has Glide support I believe, called 1nsane technically
* International Rally Championship - Direct3D only
* Jeff Gordon XS Racing - Direct3D only I believe, need to check
* Jet Moto - may well have a Glide 3Dfx mode
* Jet Moto 2 - not sure this came to PC? Says exclusive to PlayStation on Wikipedia
* Johnny Herbert's Grand Prix - Direct3D I believe
* London Racer - aka M25 Racer, Direct3D I think
* Microsoft Combat Flight Simulator - Direct3D not Glide
* Moto Racer GP - Moto Racer, Moto Racer 2, Moto Racer 3, no "GP" version existed. First one could support 3Dfx I think
* Motocross Madness - Direct3D only I think
* N.I.C.E. 2: Tune-Up! - aka Breakneck (well not the Tune-Up! part, not sure what that is, could ask on forums at synetic.de who made it) so same may apply.
* Need For Speed II - DirectDraw only. NFS2 Special Edition had Glide mode but no patch was made for original game as they changed a lot
* Plane Crazy - Direct3D only I think
* POD: Back to Hell/POD: Extended Time - so many POD things came out I'm not sure what's what. I have POD Gold and it supports 3Dfx
* PowerBoat Racing - I think I have this and it might only be DOS non accelerated. But not sure!
* Race To Galamax - Direct3D only
* Sega Rally 2 Championship - Direct3D only
* Sega Tour Car Championship - Direct3D patch came out, never Glide version
* Speed Rally - not sure what this is and I have all rally games! Unless it's V-Rally 1, which has Glide 3Dfx mode...
* Speedy Zone - DirectDraw only. There was a game called Grand Prix Rally which was essentially the same with Direct3D support
* Spell of Speed 1937 - Spirit Of Speed 1937 you mean! Direct3D I believe but may have a Glide mode
* Superbike 2001 - Direct3D I'm pretty sure
* Suzuki Alstare Extreme Racing - Direct3D only I think... the fore-runner Redline Racing may have Glide mode though
* TOCA: Touring Car Championship - Direct3D only
* TOCA2: Touring Cars 2 - Direct3D only
* Viper Racing - maybe has a Glide mode (as does Sports Car GT, CART Precision Racing, Monster Truck Madness 2...)
* Virtua Cop 2 - Direct3D only
* Virtua Fighter 2 - Direct3D patch, not Glide
* Virtua Squad - aka Virtua Cop 1, Nvidia NV1 support but not Glide/Direct3D
* Virtua Squad 2 - see Virtua Cop 2
* Zone Raiders (Image Space Inc. / Virgin) - DOS only I think, no Glide as far as I know. But X-Car Experimental Racing has 3Dfx

Really I'd need to check my games!!! But yeah nGlide is probably a good starting point.

Need for Speed 3, 4, 5 (Porsche) can all support Glide I think too. There's more out there for sure...

You don't understand.

I already have a list of Windows Glide games (based on nGlide compatibility list). I made a BIG list of everything (including previous threads here) and then sorted out the nGlide games as confirmed. This is the unconfirmed stuff that I am looking to debunk and get rid of.

I removed the ones you were sure about (hope you remember right! 😀 ) and left the ones that you wanted to check, in other words:

* Evil Knievel - not sure it's even 3D accelerated, need to check

Thanks to reading your F1 series thread you mentioned recently, I understand the differences better now, thanks.

"Formula One 2" - mentioned as a demo here: http://www.stereo3d.com/wicked3d.htm
As it's by Ubisoft, it's probably F1 97 I am guessing.

Sorry I'll work harder, was just trying to remember whilst at work! Need to get some computer time to look into them properly.

Ubisoft didn't make F195/F197, that was Psygnosis. Ubisoft made F1 Racing Simulation, Monaco Grand Prix Racing Simulation 2 and others that weren't Glide, so it's a bit of a mystery, unless it was a second version of the demo of F1 Racing Simulation (as they may have made a second demo, not sure).

Hopefully I'll be able to check them out soon, maybe next week. We've been moving house and are focussing on building new furniture still at the moment...!

My PC spec: Win10 64bit, i7-4970K (not overclocked), KFA2 GeForce RTX 2070 SUPER, Creative Soundblaster ZXr, 16GB RAM, Asus Z97-A motherboard, NZXT 410 case, ROG Swift GSYNC monitor

I'm window shopping with the Mrs. for a house myself. Need a down payment saved up though, lousy economy. Klingon Academy and Star Trek: New Worlds were both D3D only, right? Ironically, my Voodoo 5 is the only card I've ever run either of them on without glitches or artifacting. Those two games seem to hate my NVidia cards.

Klingon Academy is Direct3D, correct. I've gotten that to work on PCX2 as well. The textures should at least be 15-bit or 32-bit as there's a whole lot of alpha blending going on. I highly doubt it's paletted. I'm guessing the Nvidia regression happened around 66.xx, as I remember that Forceware breaking everything for my nvidia cards in w9x.

New Worlds I think is Direct3D, though I forgot more about details as I wanted to FORGET that game D:

New Worlds is like strange food- an acquired taste. 😉 It is a crappy game, but I've had it for years and never been able to get it to work quite right until I put it in a Voodoo system. I've been curious as to how it plays lately- I've never played it through. (Corrupted text on the main interface with NVidia cards.) It seems like the older, early 2000's games like the "Detonator" drivers for NVidia rather than their "Forceware" drivers that came later. If it doesn't work with Direct3d, or has Glide for a choice, I'll defer to the Voodoo rig. Not to derail the thread here.

I am not sure it is not already too late for that, but maybe it would be good to keep the removed games still on your lists (just marked as removed and/or why) as otherwise they will still keep coming by people who find them on some old lists from all over the net. It may also even save your own (and other listmakers) time as you/they may soon forget which games you removed and why and you won't have to search vogons for that. And also if you find some new game yourself you will be able to easily confirm whether it was already removed or you found something new for checking.

back to bagdad was a dos game no glide although you could display the mfd on a hercules monitor

superbike 2001 is d3d (you need to set desktop to 16bit under win7)

ManxTT superbike was glide
from the readme
After installing the game, the autorun menu will give you the option of running Native Win'95 or a 3DFX Version
