So I have a copy of 3d dinosaur adventure 3d anniverary edition. I believe it's meant for 32 bit windows 95/98. I tried dosbox and it didn't work, it seems because it's a windows program right? Gives error : "illegal command: win"

But when I try to start the installer on windows 10, it doesn't work no matter what compatibility settings I use.

IDK what to do. I understand one option may be to use VirtualBox by oracle? But I have no idea how to do that and it seems very complicated.

What can I do? I want to play this game so much 🙁 Thanks for your help!

Hi! 😀 It looks like a game for Windows 3.x.
Windows 95/98 games *normally* expect Windows to be running all the time.
Anyway, you can also run a Windows 3.1 game on Windows 9x most of the time.

What you can do (just some ideas):
a) Install Windows 3.1 in DOSBox (and the Win32s add-on, if required).
There's a quide for that at Vogons, I believe. All you need is the content of thew Win 3.1 floppies
and then place it in a directory, like, say,WINSETUP. It has to be accesible from within DOSBox, of course.
If you wish, you can use disk images, too.
b) Use PCem/86Box. They emulate real hardware of the time.
You may need some BIOS files for them, though.
c) Install Windows98SE in Virtual PC 200x. It has still drivers for it.
d) Give Winevdm or Boxedwine a try.
