Turn off D3D in the options menu.

hm i can't see anything in the menu ^^ the menu is damaged too

First of all make sure you install the 3.22 patch. That should add proper D3D support and fix several problems. If that doesn't fix the problem try running it without D3D by using the command line argument -noD3D. Finally keep in mind that this game will only run with a 16-bit screen mode. Hope that helps.
