Warcraft 2 BNE does not need a modern port.... and the "modern port" has a totally different feel and AI. It is the same with Tiberian Sun and Red Alert 2, these games are perfect as they are.

I am aroused about any X86 motherboard that has full functional ISA slot. I think i have problem. Not really into that original (Turbo) XT,286,386 and CGA/EGA stuff. So just a DOS nut.
PS. If I upload RAR, it is a 16-bit DOS RAR Version 2.50.

you got it wrong or didn't try to get information. Russian w2bnet is a modern port with modifications to play online, as if it were an alternative Blizzard bnet!

For Frontier (Elite 2) there is GLFrontier and for Frontier: First Encounters, there is JJFFE... however, these were projects from some years ago, and get hosted "temporarily" when you can find them, so no good links that are likely to stay good, gonna hafta dig them out of the web yourself.

Unicorn herding operations are proceeding, but all the totes of hens teeth and barrels of rocking horse poop give them plenty of hiding spots.

I would go with Raze over eDuke32 easily, and probably over BloodGDX too. eDuke32 is obviously the choice for mods though.

About Doom: GZDoom is very advanced and adds many features that make it feel essentially like a new engine. It is needed for some advanced mods, but its default settings are quite unfaithful to classic Doom. For a classic Doom experience with better graphics, and limit removals, I recommend PrBoom+.

You can change settings though. Other than features I've specifically enabled I can't tell the difference between GZDoom and PrBoom. Except that PrBoom is a PITA to deal with. PrBooom is thankfully being worked on again, but slowly and it needs a lot of work.
