That version seems to use FlashFloppy, which is fine.
FlashFloppy is an alternative firmware that's better than the normal Gotek firmware.
It works with a large number of home computers and PCs.
For an Amiga HxC might be even better, since that's what it is made for.
However, HxC is a commercial product, predating FlashFloppy.
HxC can still be installed on this hardware, if you like.
Some users can provide more information about the matter, I'm not an HxC expert.
That Gotek version also had the 7 segment display replaced by a little LED screen, which is okay.
FlashFloppy supports that, as well.
Except to those two modifications, it's still a normal Gotek, I think. 🙂👍
The rotary switch you often see is optional, it's a FlashFloppy specific thing not supported by the original firmware.
Users of the Mt32-pi project also add that type of knob often, I believe.
It's a preference, not a requirement.
The up/down buttons are always available, as far as the firmware goes.
You can add many more things in the future, if you like.
Like a little piezo speaker, to hear the drive working.

Edit: On the technical side, there are different versions of the Gotek mainboard.
The newer versions use a slightly different chip (FPGA) than their predecessors, I think.
However, the authors of both Flash Floppy and HxC are aware of the situation.
And if you buy a flashed Gotek right from the start, you don't need to worry about that.
HxC should also be compatible with the normal PC floppy formats no problem.
They aren't sophisticated in any way and well documented.
