Hi, I'm playing 3d Dinosaur Adventure-anniversary edition (1997). I use Virtualbox, running Windows 98 (also tried W98 2nd edition, same problems). The game runs fine, BUT-when you open certain buttons, a voice line plays-and these get cut off a few seconds early which is very annoying. Before I had reinstalled Windows on my own main computer, I had this setup with no problems. But now I have this problem and can't figure out what the problem is. I use a legal ISO. Any suggestions? TYVM 😀

Maybe you computer is too fast ? Try PCEM or 86Box instead of Virtualbox (those are emulators instead of hardware virtualizers).

If the vm is the same and the only thing that has changed as far as you know is the host then focus on that. Try older versions of VirtualBox, mabye you changed the vm configuration so Try different soundcards, Try different host soundcard driver versions.

Also don't use 9x in VirtualBox.

Have you tried running this game on the host?

I think the same.

Also, I've just checked the specs on Mobygames.com..

There are two separate versions of the game, for Windows 3.1 and Windows 95.

Both h have the same minimum requirements..

80386 processor, 8MB RAM, double-speed CD-ROM drive, 256c

If it's the Windows 3.1 version, it can run in DOSBox with Windows 3.1x.

Otherwise, PCem/86Box are worth a try. A 486 emulation should do.
Try without the dynamic recompiler enabled first, if you can.

The WinBIOS machine type is quite easy to configure for beginners, for example.
It's also very stable from what I can tell.

Just install Windows 95 or 98SE inside.
The Windows CDs can be found on places like eBay or local flea markets etc etc, if you lost your originals.
