It's blueberry season around here, so I'm just eating blueberries with everything.

Also did a pretty good little (summer) chili on Sunday. Nothing fancy, just ground beef/pork mix (pure ground beef in Germany is too lean for stew/burgers), bell peppers, zucchini. I put in beef broth, a half-pint of beer (usually stout, but I only had Kölsch so used that) and some cocoa poweder for colour. For spices it's just 2-3 chipotles in adobo, some cumin and hatch chili powder.

McDonald’s and most other coffee taste like dirt compared to a Starbucks which taste like dark chocolate to me.

Starbucks is considered on par with McDonald's here in Melbourne AU, but we have a large Italian community so have full access to real coffee 🤣

Espresso is good. I thought Melbourne had a pretty good sized Greek community as well.

I figured. I would also prefer hot chocolate over coffee as well, sometimes a cappuccino is okay in this type of situation, too.

Yes largest outside of Athens so they say - very multicultural city Melbourne, we're lucky.

For the past few years I've been threatening to grow chillies every spring. Never actually managed to do it until this year. So being without a garden, I used every available windowsill in my apartment and planted 20 (ish) various firethrowing chillies (hot lemon, habanero, birdeye and ghost) from seed. Looked after them lovingly, and replanted them into 15cm pots once they had grown a few inches. I know the pots are supposed to be much larger and I restricted the growing ability of the plants by using smaller ones, but I don't have space / room to grow large plants.

Fast forward a few months and after giving half of them away to family and friends (didn't have the room) I'm now plucking chillies on a daily basis and boosting my home cooked curries to almost suicide levels of heat. I even throw them on pizzas and quiches. Fast becoming immune to the weaker ones. Can eat a full vindaloo with 1/2 a ghost pepper without needing to swab my nose. Not sure if all this is a good thing! But my kids do remark how the apartment smells nice these days, in an exotic eastern sort of way.

So yeah, curries and pizzas, mostly. And milk...

..... lots of ice cold milk.

Cowboy Coffee and pastries.
If I ever open a restaurant I will call it something similar to “Cowboy Coffee”.

During the past year, I've switched to this Swedish coffee brand as it tastes better and not just bitter like most of our local brands. These two are my "daily drinks".

Not this fortunately:

During taste panels conducted by the Army, three-year-old mac and cheese was deemed just as good as the previous version, which was stored for nine months.
