This is a Complaint.

I seek unbiased 3rd-party arbitration in Moderator abusing of power in violation of the forums published Community Standards.
The moderator:

  • ** DO NOT respect differing viewpoints and experiences.
  • ** Conspiracy theorise and bluntly acted on his own make-up delusions.

If he owns these forums, then I am totally speechless of his blunt obstruction of information free flow. Otherwise, his role as moderator must be scrutinized to uphold truth and justice.

I'm not surprise and bet I know who it is as well.

Seems to be an over sensitive follow by all accounts. Definitely not a good trait for a moderator to have.

Quotes of post before they are deleted would be useful I should imagine

Wow, so the post actually survived its 1st hour, with the Moderator in "Who's Online". He must have read it. I thought he could have just push the button to delete it so no one gets to read it ...

In respect of his defense in refuting my accusation, I offer 48-hour notice for the Moderator to show evidence supporting in his defense.
If there is a forum feature to restore his deleted posts, then it is the most **honored & fair** action to let unbiased 3rd-party review the posts he deleted. This is the **challenge** if he dares to take on.

Otherwise, i would call out the Moderator's name and published his deleted post based on my memory, yes, just from my memory. Those who had read them before the posts were deleted would be the witness of their genuinity.

Good on you for having the balls to post this. It doesn't have as often as it should.

Forums I've been on and done this the moderators heads explode and go atomic. I'll either get band permanently of for 3 to 6 month periods. I just laugh it off. I mean it is halerious went you correct a so called expert on the topic the forum relates to 😉 Usually there will be half a dozen or so of the "in" crown. Man if you correct those folk some mods go ballistic.

Of when the "in" crowd make snarky comment about post you corrected them on some mods do diddly squat.... They generally alter your username in that snarky post.

Some times that 'in" crowd bands together and rudely have a go at yo like paranas feeding on a bloody carcass. Now the IS funny when it happens.😀 Almost choked on my coffee when it was half way a few times getting these clowns riled up.

Me too but i do think the OP here isnt mr totally clean 😉

I would gladly accept your present of evidence of any of my posts that constitute personal attacks, harassments or spread of falsehood.

Since I offered a 48-hour notice without calling out the Moderator's name, I would stand by my words. If your action reveal the Moderator's true identity, then it is not within my control. Or you could wait if the Moderator had remained silence after 48-hour notice, then I would present the deleted posts and then you were free to examine.

Please feel free to quote any of my past posts (I joined VOGONS in 2004) if I had, in any occurrence, violating Community Standards and causing harms to anyone. You can do a search of all my posts.

This is a simple example of how you could present the evidence.

Let's take the Mechwarrior 2 Mercenaries post.
Let assume I was wrong about PCem couldn't play the game well. You could say "I only need to play at 30FPS", that was fine and you had Core i5 desktop running Linux. I offered a method to measure in-game FPS. All you need to do is to capture an action screenshot with FPS counter and you have the evidence. If you want to go on an extra mile, then you can also shoot a video. It will be a much stronger evidence and I have no chance to refute that you fabricated the screenshot with FPS counter.

If I was wrong, then so be it and good for you. Enjoy the game. 😁

Gosh this is like a courtroom drama, may I approach the bench?

Indeed. Do you mean that you want to measure the game's FPS during gameplay? Sure, be my guest.

I also never had any problem with mods here since 2004. Just recently, and I was puzzled at his super sensitiveness. I hope he would answer the challenge and the forums do have "undelete posts" to aid in his defense. He once said that he would rip every of my post to reveal my true face. Now is the good time for him to do so in his defense to show my true face, or rather his own conspiracy theorized delusions.

What exactly was my true face, monetary gain in the downfall of PCem? 🤣

unless it's related to outright abuse, insinuated nastiness or flagrant contravention of terms (e.g. posting warez etc) then, without knowing enough about it, by experience of forums I am going to suspect the contentious heated debate that caused this was about..... something not very important

on tech forums specifically, but any enthusiast forum generally, the most heated arguments usually can be allocated under the following concepts:

narcissism of small differences
law of triviality
sayre's law

choose any or all

of course I am happy to be wrong, having no sight of the posts involved, but I've seen it again and again. I hope in any case that either the issue isn't so fundamental really, that no one is being hurt or abused and that we all just carry one once the initial spark of indignation goes out. It's real nice here after all!

i'd also reflect badmojos experience, a few edits for tidy up, a few removals of links and an occasional 'lets end the thread' moderations is what i've seen here and all seems ok to me

Thanks, and I hope the Moderator would take a few pages from you in his defense. As I already highlighted, it is the most honored & fair for the forums to undelete the posts for unbiased 3rd-party reviews. He has the options to remain silence, quote any of my previous posts as evidence in his defense or have his deleted posts written up by the accuser, not very fair to him. I would rather he takes up the challenge and demonstrates his noble gentleman-ship.

I know this is just hearsay and will be stricken from the record but I've never had a problem with the mods here.

Me too. But it does feel like the emulation sections of the forum can get pretty heated at times while it's generally very drama-free in the retro hardware topics 😀 But emulation is in fact the primary theme of "Very Old Games On Newer Systems" 😀 So I guess there's just a lot more traffic/users in those sections, hence some inevitable frictions.

Aren't you the guy that has been going around every other thread belittling the efforts of PCEm authors and instead promoting your own QEmu-3Dfx thing?
The same guy that's been warned many times about said behavior and has never once apologized or complied to these warnings? If anything, I'd say the mods here have been rather lax in your case.

But anyway, what's the point of this thread? If you have an issue with a moderator or believe you've been unfairly treated, you could take it up to either said mod who may have been mistaken or can at least discuss their thinking with you or if things don't work out well, discuss it with even higher ups or perhaps a different mod and make your case as to how it is you've been mistreated.
This thread is a half baked attempt to a public call-out. At least if you're gonna serve some drama go ahead and name said person and in what ways they've mishandled situations that you've been involved.

Promoting QEMU, yes. Belittling the efforts of PCem, well, did calling it slow constitute belittling its efforts or merely a reality check? Was it wrong to call out the reality check that software rendered 3D acceleration wasn't very useful? Yes, I am not an avid user of PCem, it is too slow in my taste. Did I stop or harass anyone from using it?
Feel free to quote my posts, please. It's very simple, quote my post and present an evidence that I was wrong. I will gladly accept it.

Well, "about said behavior" sure, just quote my posts, please, or rather it was one's conspiracy theorized delusions.
"... QEMU with virtualization offers the performance that PCem can only dream of ..."
Anything wrong with the quote above or such also constitute belittling everything that PCem has done? Or, PCem is so sensitive that comparisons are absolutely forbidden in any case? Isn't that my true experiences that the Moderator should have respected?

That is the point of the Complaint but the moderator had remained silence until now. If the Moderator stands tall and believe he is right, then just undelete the posts he deleted. This is fair to both of us. I willingly called for unbiased 3rd-party reviews. If he objects, then he could at least provide a reason (such as the forums have no such feature) rather than remain silence.

I prefer comparisons to be in scientific form. Benchmarks, graphs, accompanied by details of testing systems, software versions, repeatable processes.

Anecdotal, verbal claims are always liable to be contentious. Therefore it is possible to avoid contention by instead voicing your comparison in the scientific terms I have suggested. Which then constitutes an intellectual debate and not an emotional one.
