Well on the site this guy said the same and i didnt see a reply back so im hoping maybe one of you guys can help me. (N)avigation and (C)olonists cause the game to lock up entirely. And as well the game pretty well unplayable w/o the n key kinda sux... I run a windows Vista machine and the newest DOSBox. Is there any custom setup youd recommend trying? THX in advance....

I don't experience any problems with the game. What options are you choosing when you start the game? Are you entering the correct copy protection code from the manual? There is a V2 patch from Microprose that you can apply if you're not already using it, although I don't think it corrects problems like you're describing.
Im using all original settings i think... And mine never has me put in the code to start the game, it never asked me to since i recieved the game

ur talking lightspeed right? on the dosbox website there was no issues for the later version hyperspeed... but the earlier version had some

Yes, I am referring to Lightspeed, not Hyperspeed. They are very similar games, though.
The copy protection question occurs when you enter the Hyades or Cerberus clusters from the menu. If you aren't asked that question, then you are using a cracked version of the game, and that is likely the cause of your problem.
OK that must be it... you know where i can get a non-cracked version, id love to play this game and having it but unable to play is kinda depressing....

I thought it was freeware by now, or totally exempt i didnt really think micro prose still existed let alone still selling copies. Please if they are let me know id love to give them some money for there game. In the mean time though i have gotten the game to work and was curious what the control is to save the game...
